Postnatal Recovery
One of the most common complaints of the postnatal period is tiredness or exhaustion and when this is the case, there is no better remedy to aid recovery than homeopathic Arnica.
If medical interventions are required during delivery, such as an episiotomy or invasive fetal monitoring, then the remedy Staphysagria can be of tremendous help to relive the emotional impact of these events.
Bellis Perennis is another excellent remedy found in most birth kits which can bring relief to bruising of the deeper tissues, and can often be helpful after a caesarean section.
Breastfeeding
A fairly common early day problem for mother who breast feed is mastitis. Fortunately there are several excellent remedies that can be of help here such as Belladonna, Bryonia and Phytolacca. Having these remedies to hand to take immediately at the first signs of soreness can help to relive inflammation and may reduce the need for antibiotics.
Depression
This is not an area where self treatment is advised, however there are many homeopathic remedies that can be used to bring relief and your Homeopath will be able to prescribe the best medicines for you based on your overall health and recent birth experience.
Whatever your symptoms, if you don’t find relief within a few doses of the remedy that you choose for yourself then the best advice is to contact your Homeopath who can prescribe more accurately for you.
If Homeopathy isn’t readily available in your area, then I would be happy to answer any general questions you have by telephone, however I cannot prescribe for you unless you are a registered patient.
Please request a callback if you would like to ask a question about homeopathy and postnatal recovery.
