Fit-To-Work :The Coach Approach
Wellness management and developing a Fit-To-Work approach is what this seminar is all about.
Recommendations arising from Dame Carol Black's recently published report ‘Working for a healthier tomorrow’ (2008), will be reviewed and the value of Wellness Coaching will be explored as a tool to move both employers and medical practitioners away from the limits of the current reactive 'sick note' system and towards a more proactive 'fit note' system.
Whilst recognizing the need to work with current resources and guidelines, this seminar draws on the latest research into Wellness Coaching and motivational interviewing and explores a range of practical, solution focused tools to help employers create a 'wellness culture' at work.
“We know that staying in or returning to work is generally good for patient's health, whereas unemployment is progressively damaging “
Alan Johnson
Health secretary

“I think we are on the verge of a major paradigm shift in promoting health and wellness driven by coaching.
Coaching provides a positive connection, a supportive relationship between the coach and the person who wants to make a change.
That connection empowers the person being coached to recognize and draw on his or her own innate ability and resources to make lasting changes for better health and well-being."
